Bring the Bling - Creating Awesome Slides!
Learn how to create beautiful presentations by creating the slides for an ignite deck.
Participants in this module will will plan an ignite slide deck, 20 slides that auto advance in 20 seconds, in order to practice the visual medium. We will take you from storyboarding your slides, to searching images, and finally to creating the deck.
Stories have a specific shape and we follow people as they overcome problems. When telling stories to mobilize we direct people on to pathways that lead to action. Stories help us build, teach and protect the web. In this session we identify parts of a story. You will then create a space for your organization to tell a story and then craft your story of your goals.
Know Your Audience
Empathy for your audience allows you to craft messages that empower others. In this task we will take a user centered approach to designing our messages. We will role play and then you develop user personas for your upcoming campaign.
Structuring your Message
Code, speeches and poems all have particular shapes. They are woven in ways to tell stories. By examining and then using specific text structures you can greatly enhance the impact of your messaging. We will trace the shapes of past campaigns to Protect the web, We will identify patterns we see in the messaging and techniques used by the designers and creators.
